Replying to LO28245 --
Dear Judy,
You will find an image from me in your personal mailbox, maybe you have
already found it;-) I was very happy to see that At has said that, if
no-one other was forthcoming he will guide you through the New Testament.
I think you two will find yourself otherwise accompanied throughout;-)
since one and one becomes three;-) ...but that is for you to decide;-). I
planted a flower for you this morning, in the place I have referred to. It
is for you to decide the appropriateness of that;-) I am sharing with you
publicly what I privately learned today.
A Changed World
Acts 10; 34,37-43; Psalms 117; Corinthians 3:1-4; John 20; 1-9
"They have taken the Lord out of the tomb and we don't know where they
have put him." (John 20:2)
"It's amazing what difference a pronoun can make. If we substitute a singular
pronoun for 'they', we have much of the message of Peter in Acts. It is God
who takes Jesus from the tomb, and it is at one level true that we do not
know where God has put him.
Yet, even as we celebrate the Resurrection, we know that there is some truth
in Mary's words. You can replace "they" with your own noun, but the world is
full of groups who wished to spirit away the Lord, hide who Jesus really is
behind their own interests and needs, Jesus, who went about doing good, is
not wanted by many people.
- The world is changed by the Resurrection, and everyone has a right to
participate in that changed world. We will not be silent until this is no
longer a pious hope but a reality. Among the miracles given to the disciples
of John the Baptist as signs that Jesus is the one who is promised, the
climactic one is not the raising of the dead, but the preaching of the Good
News to the poor.
The presence of Christ brings life not only to those who have already lived,
but to those who are prevented from living properly by the way we construct
our world. Inspired by the transforming power of the Resurrection, we are
enabled to work alongside those who are poor, discerning the good news with
them, so that together we can go and proclaim what we have seen and believed."
Thought : "How to proclaim the Resurrection of the Lord where death reigns,
in particular the death of children, of women, of those who are poor, of
indigenous peoples, of the insignificant of our society?" (Gustavo Gutierrez

Love,
Andrew
