Hi Axel.

I don't agree with your statement that it is unwise to insource
consultants (after being one for the last 6 years and now hired for the
period of two years by Holland Casino for a major ERP implementation). The
advantage for the company is to get in skills they don't own and build up
knowledge management by means of the train-the-trainer principle.

For the consultant it provides the opportunity to take part in a learning
experience, against some less pay, that else is very hard to establish
because you have to sell your hours making it extra expensive to invest
into development.

After the implementation of the coming two years I will leave the company
with a very good add-on for my resume, a new experience and with knowledge
well inbedded in the organization. There are also a lot of efficiency
issues at hand. Because they have me now in, some contractors can leave
and a lot of external projectmanagement for the coming years is no longer
needed.
