Dear Jan,

I don't believe anyone is 'smarter' than anyone else, it's all a matter of
application.

It's been a major disappointment of my life that I was unable to use most
of the information and reasoning derived from my formal education, during
my career.

When I first started work I was dismayed to find that almost none of my
capabilities were being used.

Things got a little better later, and I actually did some research and
development.

I believe I have done quite a bit more 'real science' than others have,
and have probably used ten per cent of my knowledge in this area.

I read recently where 'authoritarian regimes stifle creativity', I believe
this is true - what a waste.

Religous people are typically authoritarian.

Does your 'stuckness' equate to cognitive dissonance ?

Best Regards,
Alan Cotterell
