Doc,

I think the difference between CAS and CDS is in intervention and
understanding of cause and effect.

If we intercede and change the system we a adapting it to a new situation
or changing it because we now understand the system. That is what Senge is
trying to get us to do recognize the cause and effect and implement
change.

The new or adapted system still has cause and effect going on and it is
management's job to make sure we have the right causal loops.

Adaptive systems still have causal loops only they cause some parts of the
system to change because we understand them.
