Good (or pointed) humour may not be appreciated out of context.

Email is not necessarily private, my employer can (and has) read email.
Copies are automatically archived for future reference by my employer.
Also, you have no control of a message once sent.

Volume is a protection, but data mining software can overcome that
limitation.
